Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu meets with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and the Honourable Representative of the Republic of Honduras at the UN, Mary Elizabeth Flores

Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu had bilateral talks with his Indonesian counterpart, Retno Marsudi, in which he promoted Romania's candidacy for a non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council (2020-2021). At the end of the talks, Minister Melescanu reiterated the invitation for the Indonesian counterpart to make an official visit to Romania.

Also, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs had a bilateral meeting with Mary Elizabeth Flores, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Honduras to the UN.

During the meeting, officials reaffirmed their willingness to contribute to the development of relations between the two countries, notably intensifying cooperation relations in areas of common interest, such as health, education, energy, digital governance, climate change and sustainable development.

On this occasion, there has been an exchange of views on closer cooperation within multilateral bodies, including on the reciprocal support of the two countries' candidates for positions in international organizations. In this context, the head of the Romanian diplomacy promoted Romania's candidacy for a non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
